After more than a year of preparation, we will be moving our San Antonio (Swift & National) operations to a new location. We have been in the same building for 14 years, so the move will be extensive. We thank you for your understanding in advance, as this will hopefully not happen again for several decades.
Unfortunately, due to the scope of the move, it will affect our operations for about 2 days:
General Move Schedule
- Wednesday, May 30th: Last shipping day for May
- Thursday, May 31st: Office closes at 12:00 Noon Central Time
- Friday, June 1st: Closed all day for move
- Monday June 4th at 8:00 AM Central time: Return to Normal operations
Old & Uncommon Parts Move Schedule
- Monday, May 14th– Friday, June 8th: Old & Uncommon parts will be unavailable during this time period.

Description: Laboratories utilizing microscopes often ask students to make drawings of what they see under the microscope to illustrate lab notebooks which constitute a portion of their grade. This workshop will provide examples of assessments that can be used in these laboratories to assess student mastery of a variety of concepts and skills.

Presenter: Dr. Brain R. Shmaefsky, Professor of Biology and Service Learning Coordinator, Lone Star College, Kingwood, TX
Description: Digital microscopy and a computer allowing students to view specimens with the ability to manipulate and quantitate the microscopic images. It is an exciting application of microscopy principles for a variety of samples including live mounts, household dust, soil samples and prepared slides. Inquiry-based instruction can be achieved using simple to complex instructional activities using forensic microscopy principles. This interactive presentation will demonstrate field-tested classroom case-studies, lecture demonstrations and laboratory activities that reinforce student content knowledge of scientific method, general biology principles and environmental science.
