Microscope Technician

National Optical & Scientific Instrument. Inc. is a wholesale distributor of microscopes to schools, laboratories, and industry utilizing our dealers throughout the western hemisphere.  We are seeking an individual to train in the repair and inspection of microscopes.   This position requires the use of small hand tools and some simple electrical wiring and soldering.   Computer knowledge a plus. Position requires that the technician sit at a workbench during inspection and repair of microscopes.  All tools required for the repair and adjustments of microscopes are supplied by National. The hours are Monday – Friday, 8 – 5 with overtime on Saturday’s in the summer months.  Competitive pay based on experience and salary history, good benefit package, and pleasant environment.  Please see the below for a more detailed job description.

JOB DESCRIPTION

WILL BE TRAINED FOR THE FOLLOWING

• Inspect microscope for defects in workmanship.

• Repair defects and or problems found during the inspection process.

• Clean eyepieces, objectives, prisms and other lenses on microscope.

• Adjust optical alignment of microscope.

• Inspect and adjust all mechanical mechanisms.

• Repair electrical problems related to the illuminating system.

• Repair microscopes returned to National for Warranty Repair.
